Current (Year 2024 !) Research in Progress
(P. S. Bhatia)
Complete research activity is broad. Two out of several possible projects, which tend to focus attention more than others are given below. Current research is focused on these TWO separate and independent projects, which are labeled as PROJECT-1 and PROJECT-2. First project is on nonlinear optics in ultra-cold atoms using EIT & Slow optical pulses and Second project is on Quantum Information Science (QIS)/ Quantum Engineering. These projects deal with underpinning of the latest and the most advanced research in the fields of Laser Physics, Nonlinear Optics, Quantum Physics, Quantum Information Science (QIS), & Quantum Engineering. Further, these projects are biased towards major experiments and requires development of Large-Scale Laser Laboratory Facilities. The nature of research work is such that it often requires hardware development such as development of non-standard and complex optical design, development of computer controlled tunable laser system, detector development, and development of computer controlled data acquisition system. In addition, there is a third project for writing a textbook, which is labeled as PROJECT-3.
